Here at Arista, we have no problem in letting you design your own pieces. Unfortunately, many times customers are not aware how to properly set up their documents for print. If that is the case, we ask you to make sure you follow these simple instructions.

There are four things you should keep in mind when creating your document.

1. Color mode should be CMYK (Not RGB)

2. Resolution should be set to a minimum of 250dpi

3. Must leave an 1/8" bleed around entire document. I suggest leaving a 1/4'' bleed all around. It give's you extra security for errors that may happen when cutting pieces.

4. Leave at least a 1/8'' saftey margin around document from any trim to the start of any type.

The prefered method of file creation is EPS files placed into Macintosh QuarkXpress. Support programs include Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Freehand. Files created in other programs will not be accepted.

Arista may alter files not created to exact dimensions. To avoid type shifting do not use auto leading. Always specify a number. IBM format fonts are not compatable with the Mac format and will, at best, cause your document to reflow.

Do not stylize in the QuarkXpress menu bar..if a bold or italic outline does not exist for your font, it will not print correctly.

Include both printer and screen fonts with your file. Include ALL linked and, or embedded graphics with your file. All EPS or TIFF images must be in CMYK or greyscale format. All files must be at least 250 dpi.(300 is preferred)

If you want a specific color you must give us a PMS number. If you are using a metalic ink be sure that it does not overprint.

All files require a 1/8" bleed and a 1/8" safty margin to any type. You must supply a hard copy of your file.

If you'd like, we have ready to download templates for your convenience. In both Macintosh and Windows version.
